Call for entries - The Juried Functional Teapot Show IV

A few days ago I wrote about my time helping with Hamish Jackson’s Juried Functional Teapot Show III, held at the 2025 NCECA conference in Salt Lake City. If you’ve given it a read, you’ll know why I’m happy to share that Hamish and I will be back at it for NCECA 2027!
The Juried Functional Teapot Show IV will be at NCECA in Baltimore, March 10 to 13, 2027, and the call for submissions is now open.
Fifty will be chosen for this fourth iteration of celebrating functional teapots, you can expect Hamish to announce the jurors soon (nothing like having your work laid bare to be critiqued by some of the best makers in the world for a small price – nay, a bargain!)
The particulars:
- An entry is up to five images of one teapot. You can enter more than once, but each entry needs its own form and its own payment.
- The fee is $35, or $20 for university and college students, or $10 for high school students.
- The deadline is October 1, 2026, at midnight.
- You will be notified by the end of November.
- Questions go to teapotshow4@gmail.com.
You can sign up by filling out this form, a link for payment through Hamish’s site will appear at the end. Only paid submissions will be considered.
The last show drew more than three hundred entries from potters on three continents. While this show has slightly fewer teapots, my excitement at what we can expect to see can barely be contained (especially since my basement won’t be involved, this time).
Let’s see the pots!
